  • Birthdate Calculator (www.censusdiggins.com/birthdate_calculator.html) - This handy tool was developed by Ben Buckner to help calculate birth dates from the death date and age (years, months and days) at the time of death.
  • Digital NC (www.digitalnc.org) - The Digital Heritage Center works with cultural heritage institutions across North Carolina to digitize and publish historical materials online.  The collection includes photographs, newspapers, scrapbooks, manuscripts, books, maps and more.
  • NC Echo (www.ncecho.org) - NC Echo enables users to search across thousands of digitized historic materials including a wide variety of books, photographs, maps, family histories, state documents, newspapers and much more from cultural heritage institutions around North Carolina.  All of the collections available through the NC Echo Search are freely available online to all users, regardless of their location or affiliation.
  • North Carolina Land Grant Images and Data (www.nclandgrants.com) - This free site contains searchable data for 216,000 land grants including names, dates and locations for the years 1663 through 1960.
